Governance
The Western Iowa Journalism Foundation (WIJF) was developed as a public charity under IRC Section 501(c)(3) and is independently governed by a volunteer board of directors. The board is currently comprised of seven individuals with diverse occupations, ages, and experiences. The ability to bring multiple perspectives to strategic discussions allows for effective board governance. Learn more about the current board members under the Leadership tab of the Who we Are page.

Furthermore, the board ensures that a contracted executive director is appropriately managing the organization and completing tasks that fulfil WIJF’s mission. Board meetings are held monthly, and a quorum must be present for the transaction of business.
